How to use this worksheet

  1. Look at the reference shapes at the top. Name them or compare the small and big circles.
  2. Look at one picture under Your turn. Find the top shape with the same shape or size.
  3. Join its dot to the matching dot at the top. Repeat for the other pictures.

Choose your practice

Start with circles and squares, add triangles, or sort small and big circles. Choose black-and-white or pre-coloured shapes. Size practice uses the same shape and colour so only size matters.

Let the child point or place a counter beside the matching group before drawing. Adults can name the groups; children do not need to read the labels.

Changing the practice level creates a fresh version. For another sheet at the same level, use the New practice sheet button. Save the settings link or add the sheet to a pack to keep that version. Tracing keeps the same correct forms and varies their arrangement or path lengths.

Age guidance is approximate. Print on A4 or US Letter paper. Choose outlines to save ink or pre-coloured pictures to start the activity without colouring. The instructor key follows the same worksheet options and paper size.
